Puradak Carrollton Review: First Visit

I recently visited Puradak in Carrollton for the first time, and it turned out to be a better experience than I initially expected.

There are quite a few Korean fried chicken spots in the area, so I was curious to see how this one would compare.

One thing that makes Puradak Carrollton stand out is their cooking method, where the chicken is oven-baked first and then fried.

This approach is supposed to create a crispier texture while keeping the inside tender, and I was interested to see how that would turn out.

Puradak Carrollton First Impression

Walking into Puradak Carrollton, the place felt clean and modern.

The atmosphere was casual but still had a slightly more polished feel compared to typical chicken spots.

It felt like a place where you could either grab a quick meal or sit down and take your time.

What We Ordered at Puradak

For this visit, I ordered the chilimayo and the signature black aglio chicken.

I went with boneless for the chilimayo and wings for the black aglio to try both styles.

They also gave us cheese balls as a complimentary side, which was a nice touch.

Chilimayo Chicken Review

The chilimayo was my personal favorite.

The sauce had a creamy and slightly spicy flavor that felt smooth and easy to eat.

Since I ordered it boneless, it made the whole experience even more convenient.

The chicken itself was tender inside, and the outer layer had a light crisp texture, likely from the oven-baked and fried process.

The sauce coated each piece well, making every bite balanced and satisfying.

Black Aglio Chicken Review

The black aglio chicken had a different flavor profile compared to the chilimayo.

It leaned more toward a savory and slightly sweet garlic flavor.

The wings had a noticeable crispiness on the outside while still staying juicy inside.

The texture stood out, and the oven-baked then fried method seemed to help keep it from feeling too greasy.

While it was definitely good, I personally preferred the smoother and lighter feel of the chilimayo.

Cheese Ball and Overall Experience

The cheese balls that came with the order were a nice bonus.

They were warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.

It added a small but enjoyable extra to the meal.

Details like this make the overall experience feel more complete.

What Makes Puradak Carrollton Different

The oven-baked then fried cooking method is what really makes Puradak Carrollton stand out.

It creates a texture that feels lighter and less greasy compared to typical fried chicken.

At the same time, it still delivers the crispiness that you expect from Korean fried chicken.

This balance is what gives Puradak its own unique style.

Final Thoughts on Puradak Carrollton

Overall, my visit to Puradak Carrollton was a solid experience.

The chilimayo was the highlight for me, especially with its smooth and balanced flavor.

The black aglio is also worth trying if you enjoy garlic-based sauces and crispy wings.

If you are looking for a Korean fried chicken spot in Carrollton with a slightly different style, Puradak is definitely worth checking out.

I would come back again to try more items from the menu next time.
