Paik’s Noodle Carrollton Review: First Visit

I recently visited Paik’s Noodle in Carrollton, and it reminded me why I keep coming back to this place.

This is my first time writing about it, even though I have visited multiple times before.

So I already had a pretty good idea of what to expect going in.

There are a lot of Korean Chinese restaurants around Carrollton, but this is the one I usually think of first when I am craving jajangmyeon.

At this point, it almost feels like my go-to spot whenever that craving hits.

Why I Keep Coming Back

There are plenty of places that serve jajangmyeon in Carrollton, but not all of them stand out.

Jajangmyeon Review

The jajangmyeon here is honestly the main reason I keep coming back.

The sauce has a deep, rich flavor that is not too sweet and not too heavy.

It coats the noodles well, making each bite satisfying without feeling overwhelming.

It is one of those dishes that feels simple but done right.

Among the places I have tried around Carrollton, this one stands out the most to me.

Spicy Jajang (Gochoo Jajang) Recommendation

If you like a bit of heat, I would definitely recommend trying the spicy jajang.

It adds a kick to the classic flavor without overpowering the original taste.

The balance between the savory black bean sauce and the spice works really well.

This is usually what I go for when I want something a little more flavorful.

Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) Review

The Tangsuyuk (Sweet and sour pork) was also really well done.

The batter was crispy and light, and it felt like it was fried in clean oil.

It did not feel greasy, which made it even more enjoyable.

The texture stayed crunchy while still being tender inside.

Jajang Rice Review

The rice was simple but worked really well with the rest of the meal.

Instead of fried rice, it was plain white rice topped with thin strips of egg.

The rice had a clean and soft texture, which balanced out the stronger flavors of the jajangmyeon.

It was not overly seasoned, but that actually made it better as a side to pair with other dishes.

This is something I would still order again without hesitation.
