If you are looking for authentic gamjatang in Carrollton, Ilinja Gamjatang is a place that immediately caught my attention.
Living in the United States, it has been a long time since I had a truly satisfying bowl of Korean gamjatang.
So when I heard that a restaurant specializing in gamjatang opened in Carrollton, I had mixed expectations.
I was excited, but at the same time, I wasn’t sure if it would live up to what I remembered from Korea.
First Impressions of Ilinja Gamjatang Carrollton
Walking into Ilinja Gamjatang, the atmosphere already felt promising.
It had that familiar Korean restaurant vibe, simple but focused on the food itself.
Since it is a place that specializes in gamjatang, I felt like the expectations were naturally higher.
When a restaurant focuses on one main dish, it usually means they are confident in what they offer.

The Gamjatang Experience
From the first bite, it was clear that this place delivered.
The broth was rich, deep, and full of flavor.
It had that signature spicy and savory taste that makes gamjatang so satisfying.
The pork bones were tender, and the meat came off easily, which made it even more enjoyable.
This was the kind of meal that immediately reminded me of what I had been missing.
It didn’t feel like a watered-down version, it felt close to what you would expect in Korea.

Adding Ramen and Making It a Full Meal
To make the meal even better, we decided to add ramen noodles.
This was definitely a good choice.
The noodles absorbed the broth well, adding another layer to the overall experience.
It made the meal feel even more complete and satisfying.
By the end of the meal, we were completely full.
It was one of those meals where you keep eating without realizing how much you’ve had.

Rice and Overall Satisfaction
Along with the gamjatang, we ended up finishing two bowls of rice.
The combination of rich broth and rice worked perfectly together.
It’s the kind of meal that feels comforting and filling at the same time.
Everything came together in a way that made the experience memorable.

Pricing and Value
Another thing that stood out was the price.
Considering the portion size and overall quality, the pricing felt reasonable.
It didn’t feel overly expensive, especially for a specialty dish like gamjatang.
