For my Dalgopchang Carrollton second visit review, I returned with a friend and ordered the Dallas Combo again. I had enjoyed the grilled intestines before, so I wanted to see whether the same order would be just as satisfying.
My opinion of gopchang restaurants in Carrollton has changed over time. I used to prefer Gopchang Story, but Dalgopchang has gradually become my first choice when I crave grilled Korean intestines.
This visit gave me two strong reasons to maintain that preference. The Dallas Combo had gopchang with a satisfying amount of rich, creamy filling, and the gopchang jeongol was one of the best versions I have personally tried around Dallas.
We also ordered yukhoe, which I enjoyed alongside the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph both the jeongol and the yukhoe, even though the stew ended up being my favorite dish of the night.
Returning to Dalgopchang Carrollton
During my first visit to Dalgopchang, I enjoyed the crispy exterior and chewy texture of the grilled gopchang. The combination of different cuts and Korean side dishes made me want to return.
For my second visit, I went with a friend and decided to order the Dallas Combo again rather than choose something completely unfamiliar.
I like ordering a familiar dish on a return visit because it gives me a better idea of whether the quality is consistent. One satisfying meal can leave a good impression, but enjoying the same food again makes that impression more meaningful.
The Dallas Combo did not disappoint me. I was especially pleased with the gopchang itself, which had the richness and texture I look for when eating grilled intestines.
However, the most memorable part of this visit was not the grill. It was the gopchang jeongol that we ordered alongside the meal.

What I Ordered at Dalgopchang Carrollton
Our main order was the Dallas Combo, which I had enjoyed on my previous visit. We also ordered gopchang jeongol and yukhoe.
These dishes offered three different experiences. The Dallas Combo focused on grilled intestines and their texture, the jeongol provided a rich and spicy broth, and the yukhoe added a different type of beef dish to the table.
We also enjoyed the Korean side dishes served with the meal. I appreciated having those additional flavors available because grilled gopchang can be quite rich.
Although I was satisfied with everything we ordered, my preferences were clear by the end of dinner. The Dallas Combo remained a reliable choice, but the gopchang jeongol was the dish I enjoyed most.
Dallas Combo: Why I Keep Ordering It
The Dallas Combo continues to be one of my favorite orders at Dalgopchang.
What matters most to me when eating gopchang is not simply how crispy the outside becomes. I also pay attention to the amount of gop inside the intestines.
Gop is the rich, fatty filling inside the intestine. For me, it is a major part of what makes good grilled gopchang enjoyable.
During this visit, the pieces had a satisfying amount of gop. That gave them a creamy richness inside, while the exterior developed a pleasant crispiness on the grill.
I particularly enjoyed that contrast. The outside had a satisfying bite, but the inside remained soft and rich rather than feeling empty.
When I eat gopchang with very little filling, I often feel that something important is missing from the experience. I did not have that problem with the Dallas Combo at Dalgopchang.
I also liked that the grilled intestines did not feel excessively greasy to me, despite their richness. That made it easier to continue enjoying the meal.
Being able to try different cuts in one combo was another advantage, especially while sharing dinner with a friend.
Would I order the Dallas Combo again? Yes. The amount of gop inside the intestines and the satisfying contrast in texture are the main reasons I continue choosing it.
Gopchang Jeongol: My Favorite Dish of the Night
Even though I returned for the Dallas Combo, the gopchang jeongol ended up being the highlight of my second visit.
I have tried gopchang jeongol at several restaurants around the Dallas area, and Dalgopchang served one of the best versions I have personally tasted.
What impressed me most was the broth. It had the deep, savory richness I want from a Korean gopchang stew, along with a level of spiciness that complemented the flavor.
The broth was rich without the spiciness overpowering everything else. I could enjoy the distinctive flavor of the stew rather than tasting only heat.
I was also surprised by how much I continued enjoying it after eating the grilled intestines. Gopchang is already rich and filling, but I still wanted more of the jeongol.
That was the strongest sign of how much I liked it. The stew was not simply an extra dish on the table. It became the part of dinner I remembered most clearly.
If I were recommending one item from this second visit, the gopchang jeongol would be my first choice, especially for someone who enjoys rich, savory Korean stews with some heat.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the jeongol. I wish I had one to include here because it was the standout dish of the meal.
Yukhoe: Another Dish We Enjoyed
We also ordered yukhoe, a Korean dish made with seasoned raw beef.
I thought the quality was good, and I enjoyed having it alongside the grilled intestines and gopchang jeongol.
While the Dallas Combo and jeongol made a stronger impression on me, the yukhoe was still an enjoyable part of our dinner.
I also forgot to photograph the yukhoe, so I do not have a food picture to share for this order.
I wanted to include it in the review anyway because it was part of what we actually ate, even though my strongest recommendation from this visit remains the gopchang jeongol.
Korean Side Dishes and the Overall Meal
I enjoyed the Korean side dishes that came with the meal. They provided a welcome change of flavor between bites of the grilled gopchang.
Because gopchang has a rich, fatty character, I appreciate having banchan available throughout the meal instead of eating only the grilled intestines.
The side dishes helped keep the combination of the Dallas Combo, jeongol, and yukhoe enjoyable as a shared dinner.
For me, the quality of the side dishes matters, but they did not overshadow the main orders. The grilled gopchang and the stew were the dishes that defined this visit.
Dalgopchang vs Gopchang Story: Why My Preference Changed
One reason this second visit was meaningful to me was that it reinforced how my preference for gopchang restaurants in Carrollton had changed.
I used to prefer Gopchang Story. However, after dining at both restaurants multiple times, I gradually found myself choosing Dalgopchang more often.
The amount of gop inside the grilled intestines is one of the main reasons. I particularly enjoy gopchang that has enough filling to deliver a creamy, rich bite alongside the crispy exterior.
My experience with Dalgopchang’s jeongol strengthened that preference even further. The rich, savory broth was memorable enough that I would consider returning specifically for the stew.
I also appreciated that the Dallas Combo was satisfying again. Having a good experience with the same order on a return visit matters to me because it gives me more confidence in what to expect.
This comparison is based on my personal dining experiences, not a claim that Gopchang Story is a bad restaurant or that everyone will prefer Dalgopchang.
For my taste, though, Dalgopchang has become the restaurant I am more likely to choose when I want grilled gopchang in Carrollton.
How This Visit Compared With My First
During my first visit, the grilled gopchang made the strongest impression. I enjoyed the crispy exterior, chewy texture, and variety offered by the combo.
For this second visit, I ordered the Dallas Combo again and was satisfied with the quality of the grilled intestines, particularly the amount of gop inside.
The biggest difference was the gopchang jeongol. It became my favorite dish of the night and gave me a new reason to return beyond the grilled combo.
That distinction is important to me. I no longer think of Dalgopchang only as a place to enjoy grilled intestines. I also consider it one of my favorite places for gopchang jeongol in the Dallas area.
My Final Verdict on Dalgopchang Carrollton Second Visit
My second visit to Dalgopchang Carrollton was another satisfying meal, and it reinforced why I now prefer this restaurant when I am craving gopchang.
Dallas Combo: I enjoyed the crispy exterior and the rich, creamy gop inside the grilled intestines. It remains an order I would gladly repeat.
My favorite dish: Gopchang Jeongol. The deeply savory, slightly spicy broth made it one of the best gopchang stews I have personally tried around Dallas.
Another order: Yukhoe. I thought the quality was good, although it was not as memorable to me as the jeongol.
What I liked about the full meal: The Korean side dishes complemented the rich grilled intestines, and the combination of different dishes made dinner enjoyable.
Why I prefer Dalgopchang: My experiences with its generous gop filling, satisfying grilled texture, and flavorful jeongol have gradually made it my preferred choice over Gopchang Story.
Would I return? Absolutely. I would happily order the Dallas Combo and gopchang jeongol again.
If you enjoy Korean grilled intestines, I recommend considering Dalgopchang Carrollton. For me, the grilled gopchang is excellent, but the gopchang jeongol is the dish that made this second visit especially memorable.
